Keyboard Commands In the menus of Designer’s Studio, there are a number of command-key equivalents which you will learn in the process of opening and using the various menus. However, there are also a number of additional keyboard shortcuts which are not documented in the application and which may not have been discussed to this point. The following is a list of those commands. The FKeys Most Macintosh keyboards have a row of function keys, or FKeys, above the standard set of typewriter keys. Designer’s Studio takes full advantage of these keys and a special task has been assigned to each one. F1 - Undo (Shift-F1 will Redo) F2 - Cut F3 - Copy F4 - Paste F5 - File Tools F6 - Art Tools F7 - Flip/Rotate Tools F8 - Color Palette F9 - Magnifying Glass F10 - Custom Palettes F11 - Big Editor F12 - Resource Editor F13 - Sliders F14 - All Normal/All Pushed toggle for color schemes. F15 - Registration Dialog/About Box Art Tools Shortcuts The Art Tools palette has keyboard shortcuts for each of its functions. o - Lasso m - Marquee e - Eraser p - Pencil i - Eye Dropper b - Paint Bucket w - Magic Wand l - Line 1 - Filled Rect 2 - Empty Rect 3 - Filled Rounded Rect 4 - Empty Rounded Rect 5 - Filled Oval 6 - Empty Oval Color Shortcuts • Option-click anywhere in a Designer’s Studio window to activate the eye dropper to set the foreground color. • Option-control-click anywhere in a Designer’s Studio window to activate the eye dropper to set the background color. • Control-click on either the foreground or background chips in the color palette to use the color picker in setting your desired color. • Control-click on one of the chips in the active color palette to set the background color. • Command-click on a color in a custom palette to activate the eye dropper and allow you to change the included custom color. Miscellaneous Shortcuts • Option-click on something that is selected in the Resource Editor and drag to create a duplicate selection. • Shift-click in the Preview Window to change the state toggle from browse to edit or vice versa. • Command will toggle between filled and empty states for the rect/oval tools. • Command-shift-click on an actb/dctb/clut chip in the Resource Editor to activate the color picker. • Double-click on the eraser button to delete all graphics from the active resource in the Resource Editor. • Shift-click with marquee button to select the whole active resource in the Resource Editor. • Shift-click with the magic wand to select all pixels of the same color. ----- Designer's Studio 1.5 © 1997 - 1998 Akamai Design Tom Connolly and Dorian Weisel
